Student Honours & Awards
In recognition of their SRC contributions and accomplishments, Ryerson students have received a number of honours and awards, including the following highlights:
Computer Science MSc student Adam Harley won Best Student Paper at the 13th International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR) International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition.
Kerry Miller, MHSc in Nutrition Communication, won the Applied Physiology, Nutrition, and Metabolism Undergraduate Research Excellence Award from Canadian Science Publishing.
Michael Moore, Biomedical Physics PhD student, took second place in the 3-Minute Thesis (3MT® Ontario) provincial competition with his presentation Listening to the ‘Seeds’ of Cancer.
Biomedical Physics PhD student, Reyhaneh Nosrati, received a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) CGS D3 scholarship.
Anna Pavia, Master of Architecture student, was presented with The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada's Student Medal.
Six Ryerson nursing students are recipients of the 2015 Registered Nurses’ Foundation of Ontario Award including: Judy Buchan, Prenatal & Parenthood Services Educational Scholarship; Karen Campbell, Maternal Child Nurses Interest Group Scholarship – Masters; Bronwyn Lapp, Toronto General Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Association Scholarship; Heather Lithgow, Miriam Bracken Award; Hareem Siddiqui, Jennifer Award; and Holly Smither, Toronto General Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Association Scholarship.
Molecular Science MSc student, Maliha Zafar, won the best poster prize at the Purine and Pyrimidine Society's 16th International Symposium on Purine and Pyrimidine Metabolism in Man.
