Ryerson’s more than 125 centres, institutes and labs contribute to research across a wide range of disciplines, from innovations in biomedical technologies, to the development of sustainable and renewable energy solutions, to the creation of new supports for newcomers, refugees and illegalized immigrants to Canada.
In 2015-16, several new centres were launched, including: the National Institute on Ageing, which contemplates both the financial and health aspects of ageing by producing practitioner-oriented, actionable research; the Centre for Fashion Diversity and Social Change, which is exploring fashion’s power to foster diversity, equity and inclusion; and the Centre for Middle East and North African (MENA) Studies, supporting discussion and research to establish a deeper understanding of these regions through collaboration.
