Rosa Nohemí Gómez Osorio
She is an economist from the University of San Carlos of Guatemala and holds a Master's degree in Social Management for Local Development from FLACSO Guatemala. Her areas of research focus on various socio-economic topics, such as local development and e-commerce, the real estate market with an emphasis on speculation and urban exploitation, Gender and Women Rights, and gender-based violence. In the field of migration, she has conducted research on the needs and opportunities in the labour market for returning populations and those at risk of migration. Effects of failed migration in Guatemala, especially in the western region of the country. Additionally, she has addressed the issue of irregular migration in transit, from the perspective of the local population, carried out in collaboration with various organizations in Guatemala and regional research centers. She has worked on projects related to sexual and reproductive health, economic empowerment, gender and local development, human rights, and migration.
