Awards & Financial Assistance
Through a variety of sources, students may access awards or assistance to support the financial cost of a university education. Below are a few examples.
Scholarships & Awards
Each year, students across the university are recognized for their achievements in academics, research, leadership, extracurricular life and more. Some are offered at the university level and others through the Faculty of Science or Department of Mathematics.

This new award has been established in honour of Amy and Elijah Holland by their great-grandson, Ray Westcott. The award recognizes the efforts of working people to establish paths to success for their children, grandchildren, and all those who follow.
Eligible applicants must be full-time undergraduate students enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of their studies in the Department of Mathematics. Applicants must also submit a brief written statement (max. 200 words) indicating the ways in which they meet the award qualifications, as well as the way in which their application reflects the award’s intent as stated in the award description. Applicants who identify as belonging to Black and/or Indigenous communities are encouraged to apply.
An award created by Sam and Roma Mercanti in 2022 to provide financial support for full-time and part-time undergraduate students in the Mathematics Program within the Faculty of Science. Candidates will have a minimum CGPA of 3.2 and demonstrate financial need.
This award recognizes a full-time undergraduate student in their second, third or fourth year in the Department of Mathematics with a CGPA of 2.67, who has also conducted research deemed to be of high quality and the best among the nominees of that year.
This award recognizes a full-time undergraduate student in their fourth year in the Department of Mathematics with a CGPA of 3.0, who has also demonstrated an outstanding contribution to the athletic life and/or student life in activities such as involvement in varsity sports, course unions or other clubs and organizations at Toronto Metropolitan University.
This award recognizes an undergraduate Mathematics student who is entering fourth year with the highest academic standing.
This award recognizes an undergraduate Mathematics student who is entering third year with the highest academic standing.
This award recognizes an undergraduate Mathematics student entering second year with the highest academic standing.
Bursaries

Student Loans
Repayable student loans are available through OSAP or other government aid programs for out-of-province or U.S. students. Visit Student Financial Assistance.
Event & Project Funding
If you want to attend a conference, host an event or run a special project, you may qualify for special funding. Check with the Department, Faculty of Science or Undergraduate Science Society of Toronto Metropolitan (external link) .

Part-Time Employment
