Mental Health and Wellness at Toronto Metropolitan University

Mental Health Resources at Toronto Metropolitan University can be found online. This website has information for students, staff, and faculty, as well as those interested in supporting them. It offers resources so that students can get support for themselves or others. The resources on this website are available on-campus, off-campus, or online, so students can access the support they need in the way they need. Some important resources that students should be aware of are:

  • The Centre for Student Development and Counselling (CSDC) at Toronto Metropolitan University offers free, confidential counselling services in a professional and friendly environment. While the services are predominantly short-term in nature, the duration of counselling is determined on a case-by-case basis, depending on need and resource availability. Services are provided by a team of psychologists, social workers, psychotherapists, and counselling interns. CSDC services, programs, and resources are intended to assist students in solving immediate problems, define their personal, educational, and career goals, and acquire the self-confidence and transferable skills necessary for professional success and individual growth. They provide these services on a one-to-one basis or in a group format. For more information, visit the Centre for Student Development and Counselling.

  • ThriveTMU provides training, resources and programs to Toronto Metropolitan University students grounded in principles of positive psychology. The purpose of ThriveTMU is to help students feel a sense of support on campus, to better appreciate the connections between academic success and other elements of a healthy lifestyle, and, primarily, to help students develop capacities for thriving that will serve them throughout their lives.

  • Health Promotion at Toronto Metropolitan University is dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of Toronto Metropolitan University students by providing current and relevant health information, working with students and staff to develop a healthy community, and ensuring high quality health promotion information and support.
