At Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), we welcome all prospective and future Indigenous students. TMU offers a nurturing environment that acknowledges and respects the unique cultural identities and lived experiences of First Nations, Inuit and Métis students. Committed to empowering Indigenous students on their academic path, we work to support Indigenous students so that they feel heard, valued and equipped for success in their educational endeavors.
Offering culturally supportive supports on campus
Once you join the TMU community, you will have access to a variety of programs and supports. Gdoo-maawnjidimi Mompii Indigenous Student Services offers culturally supportive programs and initiatives to First Nations, Inuit and Métis students at TMU, ensuring access to specialized services that strike a balance between academic excellence and traditional teachings and culture. Gdoo-maawnjidimi Mompii Indigenous Student Services is part of the Indigenous Initiatives unit in the Office of the Vice-President, Equity and Community Inclusion (OVPECI).

Graduate education is an exciting time of self-exploration and community engagement. Learn about programs and opportunities within the Yeates School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (YSGPS). YSGPS partners with Indigenous Initiatives in the Office of the Vice-President, Equity and Community Inclusion (OVPECI) to provide support for Indigenous graduate students in all faculties.
The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education offers a number of Indigenous courses and a certificate program in Indigenous Knowledges and Experiences.
The Chang School also administers the Indigenous Foundations Program, a partnership between Gdoo-maawnjidimi Mompii Indigenous Student Services and Spanning the Gaps – Access to Post-Secondary Education, which is designed for Indigenous community members who seek to broaden their opportunities towards academic success.
