Ted Hiebert

Ted Hiebert is an interdisciplinary artist and theorist, working at the intersections of art, performance, and technology. He is interested in things nonlinear, the absurd, the paradoxical and the imaginary. Hiebert's work takes creative, critical, and collaborative form. He has shared his work widely as a visual artist, with exhibitions at venues around the world. He is also the author, co-author, and co-editor of 8 books, including the forthcoming monograph Photographing Ambiguity (University of Toronto Press), which examines creative alternatives to the representational logic of the camera. Hiebert joined TMU in 2024 as Professor and Chair of the School of Image Arts.
