Lia Langworthy

Lia Langworthy is a screenwriter, filmmaker, published poet, essayist and educator. She has written for CBS, Showtime, FX, TvOne and ABC. She has appeared in Rogue Theatre’s writers-who-read series Rant & Rave sharing her original personal non-fiction. She also appeared in Survivors, a Stand Up to Cancer short film shot by Errol Morris. In 2018 Lia’s script, Sitting Pretty was a semi-finalist for Universal’s Writing Program and her historical bio-pic, Mary+Flo, was a semi-finalist for Ron Howard’s Imagine Impact. Lia has taught screenwriting for UCLA’s Writing Program and American Film Institute and joined Toronto Metropolitan University in 2019. Lia also serves as a script advisor for Middlebury College’s Screenplay Lab. Lia is a native Californian, born in Los Angeles and attended UC Berkeley (BS) and UC Riverside (MFA).
