Niall McGarrigle is the Risk and Insurance Specialist in the Office of the General Counsel and Board Secretariat, he manages the insurance program, provides guidance to the community on insurance coverage and is also involved in the provision of risk advisory services.

Prior to joining Toronto Metropolitan University, Niall worked in the insurance industry with various brokerages and insurers both in Ireland and Canada, while also working in risk and insurance administration for a provincial regulator.

Niall is a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) from the Insurance Institute of Canada, and has obtained the Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation from RIMS, the Risk and Insurance Management Society. He also holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in History, Politics, Sociology and Social Studies from the University of Limerick, Ireland.
