The Positioning for Success in Academia program offers workshops, writing circles, and mentorship opportunities that support faculty members to develop their capacity as researchers and teachers on an ongoing basis.
Workshops
Past workshops have engaged faculty members with topics such as trans inclusion in the classroom, actionizing the TRC, decolonizing the classroom and unpacking "disability" in pedagogical practices.
Writing Circles
Writing can be challenging, but sometimes talking through your ideas can help you put pen to paper. Join a writing circle and receive supportive feedback from your colleagues as you work on manuscripts for publication.
Writing Week
Four times a year, we devote a week to supporting our faculty in their scholarly writing. At writing week, you can:
- Attend a kickoff workshop
- Participate in a drop-in writing session
- Work with an editor to develop your manuscripts
Writing Week is held in February, May, August, and October of each year.
New Faculty Mentorship Circle
As a new faculty member, you may have many questions and be unsure where to get the information you need. When you join our faculty, you will be invited to join a mentorship circle, where you will have the opportunity to meet with colleagues on a regular basis to discuss questions and share ideas.
