FCS Teaching Together Workshops

Professor Steven Gedeon smiles with hand on chin

Join us for a series of teaching-related workshops throughout the academic year, covering a range of topics that are relevant to the work of faculty and instructors.

These workshops are hosted by the FCS Dean's Office and were created with the intention of supporting new faculty members. However, the sessions can often be helpful for all faculty and instructors.

FCS Teaching Talks

FCS Teaching Talks are gatherings for colleagues to get together and connect in an informal and relaxed setting about how it’s going in the classroom.

These gatherings are typically offered monthly and are hosted by the FCS Learning & Teaching Committee and the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Studies, Students & Pedagogy.

Please note that if a monthly gathering is cancelled or if you need any support between dates, you are welcome to reach out to Nadya Burton (nadya.burton@torontomu.ca), Associate Dean, for assistance or advice. Nadya is always open to collegial conversation and encourages you to contact her directly to check-in about about any challenges you are facing or concerns you may have. We are here to help!

Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT), FCS Liaison

Quill Christie-Peters

Quill Christie-Peters is an educational developer and serves as our FCS liaison to CELT. Quill is available for support and guidance around all teaching-related issues. Additionally, for those seeking support around fostering Indigenous self-determination and meaningful anti-oppression frameworks in their classrooms, Quill is available for consultations as an educational developer in Indigenous pedagogies and curriculum. She also offers broader workshops and learning engagements through the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching.

Black Scholarship Institute

For those interested in gathering with colleagues to talk specifically about anti-Black Racism (ABR) and teaching, the Black Scholarship Institute (BSI) offers opportunities to engage in ongoing discussions about ABR and how it affects teaching, learning and student outcomes.

The events and gatherings hosted by the BSI provide a welcoming space to generate ideas and initiatives, and to foster innovative research, teaching and advocacy to uplift Black communities.
