Sabbatical Leave

The taking of paid leaves of absence by tenured faculty members for the purpose of academic refreshment or expansion of experience is to the benefit of the University and its students. Therefore, the University agrees to grant a faculty member a paid leave of absence depending on such factors as length of service, availability of alternative faculty or instructors, and the priority of the need in each case, subject to the provisions of Article 6 of the TFA Collective Agreement.

A tenured faculty member must apply in writing on a University supplied form and submit it to their Chair/Director by October 15 prior to the academic year in which he/she plans to start their leave:
