Composition of Committees

Contract Lecturer Appointment Committee (CLAC)

The CLAC committee is responsible for recruiting, recommending and evaluating part-time and sessional contract lecturers who are members of CUPE Local 3904 Unit 1.

Faculty Tenure Committee (FTC)

An FTC is established within each faculty to consider recommendations for tenure received from the Department Evaluation Committees to assess that the process was fair, that due process was followed, and to make tenure recommendations to the Vice-Provost, Faculty Affairs.

Department Hiring Committee (DHC)

The DHC is responsible for the recruitment and recommendation for hire of all limited-term and tenure-stream faculty in a department/school for the academic year.

Faculty Promotion Committee (FPC)

An FPC is established within each faculty to make recommendations to the Dean for applications for promotion to professor and salary transfer.

Departmental Evaluation Committee (DEC)

The DEC is responsible for evaluating pre-tenure faculty members, including the coordination and conduct of teaching assessments, annual assessments, intermediate tenure reviews and recommendations concerning tenure.

Faculty Teaching Standards Committee (FTSC)

The FTSC reviews and comments on department/school-proposed teaching standards to promote equity, transparency, and academic quality across the faculty.
