Academic Administrators
The following positions are governed by the Appointment of Academic Administrators (AAA) Policy.
The AAA Policy rests on the bedrock of collegial governance and is intended to provide for the Appointment of Academic Administrators in a manner that is transparent and accountable.
Provost and Vice-President, Academic: The university's chief academic officer and chief operating officer and responsible for TMU's academic growth and operations
Vice-Provost, Academic: Oversees experiential learning and academic integrity
Vice-Provost, Faculty Affairs: Oversees all faculty tenure, promotion and hiring decisions
Vice-Provost and Dean, Yeates School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies: Responsible for the overall vision and leadership of graduate education

The Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation (OVPRI) is Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU)'s central research administration office. The office is responsible for advancing the research agenda at TMU and works with faculty, government and industry to help foster the creation of new knowledge and the establishment of innovative partnerships.
Deans oversee each faculty and help shape the academic vision and outcomes of the university and are supported by Associate Deans. The normal term of a Dean's and Associate Dean's appointment is five years.

The Chief Librarian oversees the TMU Libraries and works collaboratively with internal library staff, academic units across the university and the external community to facilitate new opportunities for innovation and excellence in library services.
Chairs and Directors
Chairs/Directors provide academic and administrative leadership within their department and carry out teaching and scholarly, research and creative (SRC) responsibilities. The term of a Chair/Director is typically three or five years.
Chairs/Directors are members of the Toronto Metropolitan Faculty Association (TFA) with roles and responsibilities governed by the (PDF file) Collective Agreement.
