Monthly fire alarm inspection schedule for 2024-2025

Monthly fire alarm testing will be taking place monthly in all TMU-owned, non-residential buildings. During the tests, the audible signals (alarm bells) and the visual signals (flashing emergency strobes) will be activated for brief periods intermittently overnight. 

The next tests will take place in the evenings and overnight from Monday, November 11 to Friday, November 15, 2024.

Subsequent tests will be conducted every second week of each month. To minimize disruption, the testing will take place in the evenings and overnight. For buildings with evening classes, testing will not begin until after 10 p.m.

How this may impact you

Scheduled alarm testing will take place during the second week of each month Monday to Friday between 7 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. from November 2024 to July 2025. 

If you are aware of activities taking place in impacted buildings during testing periods, please advise impacted individuals of the alarms as the buildings should be vacant for the testing.
