Renovation Projects
Facilities Management and Development plans and executes renewal projects to support TMU’s ongoing growth and evolution, breathing new life into outdated spaces and maximizing their potential. Renovation projects include facility improvements, the customization of leased spaces ("fit-out") as well as maintenance to repair and replace end-of-life building components.
Featured project: Science Faculty Offices and Psychology Research Expansion
The Atrium on Bay has an office tower at 20 Dundas West that has provided satellite facilities for the School of Performance, iBoost Zone and the Brookfield Institute, since 2019.
To meet the demands of the university’s growth, the Atrium on Bay is now also the new home to expanding programs in the Computer Science and Psychology Department. The 12th floor of the building was renovated to provide new offices and research lab facilities for both programs with shared amenity areas that provide more opportunities for collaboration, innovation and interdisciplinary work.
The renovation added new faculty offices, research assistant stations, lab modules and interview rooms, plus shared spaces with bookable meeting rooms, lunchroom facilities and a server room.
The renovation also provided the university with an opportunity to incorporate a purpose-built universal washroom with an adult change table that can be accessed by TMU occupants with 12th floor card access.
TMU’s Atrium on Bay spaces are easily reached from our campus core with internal PATH links from Yonge-Dundas Square (DSQ) or the Ted Rogers School of Management (TRS).
