Welcome to Dr. Tavallaei's Research Lab
Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death globally. More than 10 million catheter-based procedures are performed worldwide annually to diagnose and treat these diseases.
Dr. Tavallaei's research group aims to: 1) utilize imaging information to characterize and predict device performance in cardiovascular interventions; 2) improve on the delivery of therapy through the design and development of novel devices; and 3) to design and develop novel imaging tools for improving diagnosis accuracy and assisting in procedure guidance.
Our goal is to make fundamental advances in the field aimed at improving cardiovascular disease management and reducing its burden on patients and healthcare providers. Solution design and development, system verification and testing and technology transfer are core components of our activities.
