Food for life: Cultivating, sustaining and transforming

Innovation Issue 40: Summer 2024

Message from the Vice-President, Research and Innovation

Message from the Vice-President, Research and Innovation

At TMU, our researchers are curious about food. Their curiosity is cultivating positive change and serving up innovative solutions.

They are investigating ways to grow and produce foods that are more cost-effective, equitable and environmentally sustainable, from exploring food safety regulations, past and present, to studying historical food and agriculture trends that impact our culture, society and economy. Food research at TMU is delivering transformative policies, technologies and knowledge.

Across disciplines, our researchers are discovering how food nourishes us physically and mentally. In this issue of Innovation, we examine food from farm to apps to table. I hope you enjoy this edition.
