Expanding Scholarly, Research & Creative Activity (SRC)
In 2015-16, Ryerson University’s overall external research funding reached an all-time high of $47.1 million. Our success is due to faculty and student research that is relevant and connected to today’s challenges. Ryerson recognizes SRC success not only through funding dollars but also in the impact of our interdisciplinary research, locally, nationally and internationally.
Working with more than 200 industry and community funding partners, we are recognized for our collaborative approach toward solving complex business and societal issues.
Tri-Council Funding
Ryerson researchers were recognized by the Tri-Council agencies, increasing the university’s overall share of funding from all three funding agencies. Ryerson received approximately $15.8 million in Tri-Council funding representing an overall 18.8% increase over the previous year.

Canada Research Chairs
CRCs are allocated every two years based on a university’s share of total Tri-Council funding over the previous three years. Through their research excellence, Ryerson’s CRCs are making a positive impact on the socio-economic well being of Canadians and advancing their fields of study internationally.
