Umma Naima holds a Master's by Research from Queensland University of Technology, Australia. Her MPhil thesis examined the financial engagement and inclusion/exclusion of low-income Bangladeshi Muslim women in South East Queensland. Her research explores the complex interplay between sociocultural factors and structural dynamics that influence women's digital financial inclusion. She has published in high-quality journals, including Technology in Society. She is passionate about researching the impact of emerging technologies on the financial experiences of marginalized communities, particularly focusing on Muslim women from sociocultural and religious perspectives.
