Dr. Sagar R. Sharma is Professor of Development Economics at the School of Arts of Kathmandu University. He is the former Dean of the School. He has done extensive research on issues related to migration and mobility, foreign aid, ethics and sustainable development, agrarian reform, land rights and land reform. He has so far supervised more than 12 PhD students, both national and international, with several ongoing PhD and Post-doc studies under his supervision. He is an expert in development studies in South Asia. He is also the founding Director of the Himalaya Centre for Asian Studies (HiCAS), a research platform for studying ancient knowledge systems and cultures across the Himalayas. He is a co-partner of the MEMO project.
