Welcome to Toronto Metropolitan University's Department of History!

We are a community of professors, administrators, and students dedicated to research and advancing historical understanding across a wide range of periods and themes. Our career-focused Honours BA and related programs enable students to pursue their interests in the past and explore the historical roots of contemporary issues between the ancient and modern eras. Areas of study include specific countries and regions; international relations and conflict; gender, identity, human rights; museum studies; and the history of science and technology.
