Welcome new engineering students! The First-Year Engineering Office (FYEO) hosts transition and orientation initiatives throughout the summer to help you make your journey from high school to Toronto Metropolitan University successful.

If you have accepted your Offer of Admission, follow the First-Year Engineering Office on social media (@firstyeareng) to get ready with us during the summer before you start your first semester!

Pre-Orientation

Begin your Toronto Metropolitan University experience by participating in our pre-orientation programs! Each program introduces students to TMU in highly engaged environments through interaction with upper-year students (First-Year Ambassadors), faculty and staff.

Check out below the upcoming pre-orientation events and sign up now to save your spot. You will get a confirmation email and calendar invite closer to the event date.

Our virtual Pre-Orientation session is opportunity to learn more about moving to Toronto, getting ready for university, being involved on campus early, talking with upper-year engineering students, and meeting your fellow classmates before the semester begins.

Winter Academic Orientation 2025

Welcome to campus! We will be hosting an in-person Winter Academic Orientation in January. Attending Academic Orientation will help you connect with fellow engineering students and ensure that by the time classes start, you are ready to get going.

This in-person event will take place on January 6th at 12:00 pm on the 3rd floor of the ENG building, Sear's Atrium.

The Pre-Orientation, Orientation, and Post-Orientation (Engineering POP) programs are an opportunity to learn more about the social and academic aspects of university, get involved on campus early, meet upper-year leaders and ambassadors, gain valuable leadership skills, network and meet other students with similar interests before orientation week.
