Three diverse and intergenerational Black individuals having a conversation

We are excited to announce the Black Excellence Mixer is returning in 2024!

The Black Excellence Mixer is an intentional space for Black students, faculty and staff to connect and celebrate the thriving Black community at TMU.

The theme of the fifth annual Black Excellence Mixer is A Renaissance of Our Own. Join us in embracing Afrofuturism by leaning into ancestral wisdom, engaging in intergenerational dialogue and paying homage to a rich history of Black creativity, ideas and excellence across time and space.

We invite you to take this opportunity to come together and build meaningful relationships and connections on campus.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • network, meet new people and  build lasting personal and professional relationships,
  • connect with Black students, faculty and staff who share similar interests, goals and lived experiences and
  • enjoy delicious food, art and musical performances offered by local Black vendors and artists.

We hope to see you there!

This event is wheelchair accessible

The university is committed to the accessibility and inclusion of persons with disabilities. If you require any additional accessibility accommodations to ensure your full participation, please email blackexcellence@torontomu.ca
