Community-Engaged Learning & Teaching
Enhance your teaching experience
Community-Engaged Learning and Teaching (CELT) is a pedagogical approach embedded in civic and public engagement, social justice and reciprocity.
Engaged learning initiatives help students make linkages between theory and practice, enhance critical thinking and reflection, ability to apply knowledge, develop skills for inquiry and active learning. Academically embedded experiential components include forms of community engaged learning, service learning, work-integrated learning, project and research-based learning, to provide real world experiences to students and foster integration of personal, academic, professional and civic abilities.
The Faculty of Arts CELT Coordinator collaborates and offers consultation and support to faculty members and academic programs and initiatives to integrate innovative, creative and transformational applied learning opportunities in courses and curriculum.
