Learn from industry leaders & work on real industry projects

PMBE program courses incorporate insights from leading industry experts to provide students with the most up-to-date knowledge on professional practice. The capstone course gives students the chance to work closely with leaders from the architecture, engineering and construction industry to develop a solution to a real-world problem.



Flexible & personalized study options

Each student is supported by an advisor to create a tailored plan of study focusing on design, construction, or construction management, development, or some combination thereof.  Further, because our program is designed to upskill AEC leaders, many of our students complete this program part-time. Courses are scheduled starting from 3pm to minimize time off work.

Enrich your experience through research, world-renowned facilities & immersive campus life

Our research is making an impact across industries and finding sought-after solutions to significant and emerging building challenges. For example:

Dr. Jenn McArthur's digital twin research is helping guide Infrastructure Ontario's strategy to improve procurement, project delivery,  and lifecycle asset management.

Dr. Ehsan Azar's research into image processing for construction sites allows for more effective and efficient project monitoring.

Student life for PMBE candidates is rich due to our focus on experiential learning, practical applications for all course material, small cohorts, and ongoing interaction with industry thought leaders.

The Smart Campus Integration & Testing Hub (SCITHub) provides a rich learning environment for PMBE students across all phases of the project, from planning and design (as case studies) through real-time interaction during the construction process, and as an operations research tool once it opens in 2025. The Hub will support three key research areas: Smart City & Smart Campus development, optimization of control systems, and creating healthier, more productive indoor environments. With its diverse range of 100% digital systems, advanced technologies, and novel materials, SCITHub is poised to be a globally unique, world-leading facility.

Whether you’re looking to join a student group, advocate for your peers in student government, challenge yourself and others at our graduate symposium, or just looking for support, we encourage you to make the best of your experience at TMU.
