Every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of these pages. Occasionally, a time delay can occur between when a program closes and when the pages are updated.

Program availability can change rapidly during the later stages of the admissions cycle.

  1. Social Work (full-time) – Advanced Standing to year 2 for graduates of a Social Services Worker diploma from a public Ontario college who have less than two years paid full-time equivalent, relevant work experience in social services.
  2. Social Work (part-time) – Advanced Standing to year 3 for graduates of a Social Services Worker diploma from a public Ontario college and graduates of a Bachelor of Arts degree from a university who have at least two years of paid full-time equivalent, relevant work experience in social services.
  3. Midwifery – Applicants with a health professional baccalaureate degree, as well as labour and delivery experience, may be eligible for the Post-Baccalaureate Program for Health Professionals. Interested applicants can apply to the full-time program. Eligibility is determined by the program department during the application review.
  4. The Fashion Design and Fashion Communication programs admitted their final cohorts in fall 2019. While no new students will be admitted into the programs, the curricula will continue to be available to all continuing program students.

Applications will be processed starting: October 1, 2024

Application deadline: December 1, 2024 is the guaranteed consideration date for winter applications. Most programs will close applications in mid-December for the winter term which commences in January. Applications and supporting documents must be submitted by this time.

Application entrance terminology

Entry Level
Entry into the first semester/year of a full-time, part-time or Direct Entry degree program.
Advanced Standing
Entry into a level above first semester/year of a full-time or part-time program.
Readmission

Students who left their program at TMU under one of the following conditions must apply for readmission:

  • Officially withdrew
  • Did not enrol for six terms but left in good Academic Standing
Reinstatement

Students assigned a Required to Withdraw (RTW) standing may be eligible for the Fresh Start program. For details about deadlines, eligibility criteria, and how to apply, see the Fresh Start program information page. Speak with your academic program advisor for more information. Students seeking reinstatement into the same program after 24 months have elapsed from their RTW date must apply for reinstatement on a TMU Application.

Special Student

Students are designated Special Students if they are enrolled in one or more courses, but are not pursuing a degree. Common reasons to pursue Special Student status include:

  • To attempt to qualify for admission to a degree program
  • To meet professional association course requirements
