Environmental Scan

Members of the Centre for Excellence in Learning & Teaching and Facilities Management & Development conducted a series of site visits and meetings with Canadian universities and colleges who have undergone classroom redesign projects, including McGill University (external link) , Humber College (external link) , Queen's University (external link) , Western University (external link) , and the University of British Columbia (external link) .

A review was conducted of a series of classroom space design documents from a sampling of universities in Canada and the United States (Arizona State University, McGill University, Pennsylvania State University, University of British Columbia, University of California Santa Cruz, University of Connecticut, University of Toronto, and Washington University St. Louis). This review has been used to inform the development of Toronto Metropolitan University-specific classrooms standards.
