Planning Your Courses

Keeping your education on track in the School of Child and Youth Care means following the right steps when selecting your courses.

You can check out the Undergraduate Calendar for current information on course offerings.

Course intentions is a pre-enrolment electronic process through which you express interest in a course for the upcoming semester. Check in MyServiceHub (my.torontomu.ca) or in the Significant Dates section of the Undergraduate Calendar for information about when you must complete your course intentions

CYC undergraduate courses are categorized in the following ways:

  • Evening courses: section number 701E
  • Distance courses: section number 801I
  • Day courses: section number 001/002

You can enrol in courses using MyServiceHub (my.torontomu.ca). Course intention and registration information for part-time students is continuously updated, so check your MyServiceHub account and Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) e-mail account regularly. Note that you are responsible for managing your academic career at TMU, including enrolling in courses and paying tuition fees.

  • Distance courses: section number 801I
  • Day courses: section number 001/001

You can track your progress through the program by checking your advising report through MyServiceHub (my.torontomu.ca). This lets you see all the courses you have taken, are currently enrolled in, and still need to take in order to graduate.

TMU makes it possible for you take elective courses through The Chang School of Continuing Education. They may be delivered at different times and in different formats, which offers you more flexibility and convenience in your education.

To confirm that Chang School elective courses count towards your CYC degree, review the approved Lower Level Liberal Studies, Upper Level Liberal Studies and Professionally-Related courses in the Undergraduate Calendar.

The codes for all Chang School courses are prefaced with a ā€œCā€.
