Students in different time zones, limited internet access, and “Zoombombing” have many of us rethinking our use of the popular video conferencing tool for virtual course delivery. While live online sessions can be valuable, this Small Talk focuses on three other asynchronous approaches you can integrate into your teaching. All sessions also include a Q and A based on the topic.

This will include suggestions for outlining the order in which learning materials, activities and assessments should be accessed.

Facilitator(s):

  • Stephanie Goetz - Instructional Technologist, Digital Media Projects [May 28, 2020]
  • Nada Savicevic - Educational Developer, Centre for Excellence In Learning and Teaching [May 28, 2020]

Join this webinar if you are interested in designing or redesigning a course for the online environment. We will share effective approaches to course design, including writing course learning outcomes, planning student assessments, and selecting activities that support student learning. The goal is to identify what you want students to take away from your course, determine how they will demonstrate their learning, and identify ways that you can engage students and facilitate their success. Participants will receive a set of questions, strategies, and tools that will aid in the course design process.
