Sophos Enterprise - Upgrade Your Sophos (Anti-Virus)

June 03, 2022

To: Users with a device that requires an update to Sophos

Toronto Metropolitan University uses Sophos to provide virus and malware protection to University owned computers (Windows and Apple). Sophos was migrating the service from an on-prem solution to a cloud based service and 4 years ago the University started the migration. CCS worked with Sophos to provide transitional licenses to allow the University to run both systems. With the renewal of Sophos for this June, we no longer have the transitional licenses. CCS started migrating clients to the new cloud based service 4 years ago but were interrupted by the closure of the campus.

CCS was able to update many of the devices through computer upgrades or automatic scripts to update Sophos. However there are approximately 200 devices that are still running the old Sophos that is expiring next month.

Your device (140618-ASODEN) is one of the computers that requires an update to Sophos. Please follow the instructions on the CCS website for upgrading your version of Sophos prior to June 29th.

Devices not updated by June 29th will be blocked from connecting to the University’s network.
