Language and Public Life
This writing course for students whose first language or mother tongue is not English
focuses on how language is framed by institutional and cultural perspectives. Students
analyze and discuss readings of different genres and language use in advertising, print
and social media. Students participate in discussion forums and write summaries and
essays.
