Spoken and Written Language
This writing course for students whose first language or mother tongue is not English
introduces them to critical thinking about oral and written language. The topics include
the nature of language, first and second language learning, and style of speech. Students analyze and discuss academic readings of different genres, work on enhancing their vocabulary and writing skills, and write essays.
