Practice with Families

Students will have the opportunity to learn a family systems approach to assessment and intervention which recognizes family structure and clarity of boundaries; intergenerational groupings and interactions; gender and interests; parental, spousal and sibling dynamics; roles, rules and relationships in families. A multi-disciplinary approach to understanding family systems will be provided. This course will offer family practice experience through direct observation, participation and opportunity for analysis from the context of the various theoretical frameworks and life space settings.
