Therapeutic Intervention
This course builds on the learning acquired in CYC 607 Therapeutic Assessment and focuses on applying theory to direct therapeutic practice. Students will develop therapeutic skills and be able to identify and articulate the dominant paradigms informing their practice. Emphasis will be placed on treatment goal setting that is child centred, informed by an assessment process that is ongoing, is specific to the current needs and capacity of the child/youth, and is measurable and achievable in a reasonable time frame.
