Ryerson offers via RAMSS an online, self-service Academic Advising tool called the Advisement Report which generates an Advising In-Progress report that will tell students:
- Ryerson courses previously taken
- Current course enrolments
- Degree and program course requirements
- How successfully completed and currently enrolled courses fulfill degree requirements
- External transfer credits and challenge credits granted
- Any extra courses taken that are not being applied to degree requirements
- Any course substitutions or courses directed to degree requirements.
Students are advised to regularly run an Advisement Report from the RAMSS Student Centre, 'My Academics' link to track their progress through their program's curriculum towards graduation. The Advisement Report should be run each semester when grades are finalized and when students make a change to an academic record i.e., add, drop or swap courses. The Advisement Report, in conjunction with this calendar, should be used as a guide when selecting courses for enrolment. This report does not represent an irrevocable contract between the student and the University.
The official status of degree requirements will be assessed in a students' final year by the Curriculum Advising Office as soon as an application to graduate is received.
It is the responsibility of the student to understand and to meet the requirements for graduation. If inaccuracies are found, students should identify the problem(s) and contact their program department immediately.
