The Writing Centre offers free one-on-one peer tutoring for Ryerson students to improve their writing to the standards expected by their professional colleagues and future employers. Beyond this, The Writing Centre encourages the practice of writing as an art in its own right: the development of a personal style which is aesthetically satisfying and a powerful tool for discovery and communication.
It also offers in-class sessions, handouts on particular strategies of organization, writing and revision, and free guides to source referencing and bibliography, following APA, MLA, and Chicago style. These handouts are also available on its website.
The Writing Centre can be found inside the Library on the West side of the Ronald D. Besse Information and Learning Commons (main floor). Students are advised to make appointments, though they can drop in and any tutor who is free will work with them.
