The School of Child and Youth Care offers a Minor in Child and Youth Services which should be of interest to students in related fields such as Social Work, Nutrition and Food, Nursing, Disability Studies, Early Childhood Education, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Arts and Contemporary Studies and Sociology. The focus of the Minor is on understanding and promoting the rights and participation of children and youth through inclusive practice and advocacy. Students will be exposed to a variety of practice methods which may be incorporated into their own discipline.
The School of Child and Youth Care offers a full-time four-year degree program in Child and Youth Care, as well as a full- and part-time Direct Entry two-year degree program for graduates of the Child and Youth Work Diploma programs.
The Child and Youth Services Minor is not available to Child and Youth Care program students.
To receive the Minor, a student must complete six courses from the following course of study:
