This program includes an optional co-operative education program which provides students with the opportunity for 20 months of work experience integrated into their academic program.
Computer Science offers the unique opportunity to participate in one of two co-op sequences, the first is an 8 month-4 month-8 month term sequence which gives the student the opportunity to diversity their work experiences at a number of organizations. The second is a 4-month-16 month term sequence that allows a student to specialize within one particular organization.
Students wishing to be considered for this program should indicate their interest when applying to enter the program in first year. Students then formally apply for admission into the co-op during the third semester of the program. Admission into the Co-operative program is based on a minimum GPA of 3.00.
Student must successfully complete four out of five work terms to graduate from the co-operative program. Each work term is assessed by the Faculty Advisory on the basis of the student's comprehensive written report and the employer's evaluation of the student's performance on the job.
