RYERSON ALUMNI

The Ryerson alumni body now numbers more than 130,000 and is growing at a rate of approximately 5,000 per year. While most graduates continue to live and work in and around the Greater Toronto Area, others are spread out across North America and around the world. Ryerson alumni are everywhere!

The University's Alumni Relations Office serves the University and its alumni body by engaging all alumni in the life of the University, beginning with their first experience with Ryerson and extending throughout their lives.

Upon graduation, Ryerson alumni receive free lifetime subscriptions to the Ryerson Alumni magazine and our new @lumni e-newsletter, and are eligible for a number of exclusive privileges. These include group rates for home and auto insurance, life insurance and associated products, wealth management products and advice, our very own Ryerson credit card, and numerous other discounts and value-added opportunities. Many alumni also choose to interact and stay connected through our online community, RU Online.

The Alumni Relations Office works in partnership with the Ryerson University Alumni Association (RUAA) and also facilitates a network of alumni-driven groups of graduates who coordinate special events and activities that engage alumni in social, networking, and educational activities to maintain an ongoing connection with the University.  Most alumni groups are geared to specific academic programs, sports teams or clubs, while others are regionally-based.

Each fall, hundreds of Ryerson alumni return to campus to celebrate Alumni Weekend with class reunions, workshops, receptions, campus tours and much more!

Many alumni acknowledge the difference that Ryerson has made in their lives, and seek opportunities to 'give something back', by supporting the life and work of the University today.  Whether it's making a charitable donation to the Annual Fund or one of our capital campaigns, serving on the Board of Governors, Senate, or an academic Program Advisory Council, helping to organize or attending an alumni event, or even mentoring or hiring a current student, there are many, many ways that alumni help to advance Ryerson.
