What does it mean to be a Black TMU grad?

I am so proud to be added to the number of Black university graduates. The messages I got in school, verbal and non-verbal, led me to believe that university was not for me. Now I can say that not only do I belong, but I am meant to be here.

What advice do you have for other Black students at TMU?

Find people that motivate you to keep with it when things get difficult. I also strongly encourage students to take part in the Bridge program. Connecting with other Black students and professors helped me feel less isolated and helped me find the resources I needed.
