Chellephe Gayle

Chellephe is a Jamaican Canadian and a mom of two fine young men who are 16 and 25.  She is also the wife of a wonderful, supportive partner. She is an instructor therapist and developmental support worker and plans to complete her master’s in social work.

What does it mean to be a Black TMU grad?

It means to be proud of all of the hard work and dedication that has been put into reaching this amazing and important milestone.  To be a Black Toronto Metropolitan University graduate means to continue to be a leader in Black excellence and strive for positive and meaningful changes in our communities.   

What advice do you have for other Black students at TMU?

Put the work in, believe in yourself and seek support when necessary.  If you have made it this far, you can go a little further.  Be resilient and determined about what it is you are trying to achieve.
