Alicia Gordon-Smith
She/Her
Alicia is a wife and the mother of three young ladies. She is also a passionate registered social service worker who works with women who have experienced intimate partner violence. Alicia is graduating from the Chang School of Continuing Education in the Leadership in Community Development and Engagement program and looks forward to pursuing her bachelor’s degree in social work at TMU in September 2022.

What does it mean to be a Black TMU grad?
As a social work professional, there are not many of us at the table or operating within this sector. It feels so awesome to be recognized as Black person who has achieved higher education.
What advice do you have for other Black students at TMU?
Keep pressing forward, there’s no limit to what you’re able to achieve.
