What does it mean to be a Black Ryerson grad?
To be a Black Ryerson grad means that I’ve broken down barriers and achieved a milestone that my Black grandparents and father were unable to achieve but so deeply dreamed of for me. It means that I continuously pushed myself despite many odds saying I wouldn’t make it.
What do you plan to do after you graduate?
After I graduate from Ryerson, I will be attending Osgoode Hall Law School where I not only hope to more deeply explore my interest in criminal law, but also other areas of law that enable me to affect social change.
What advice do you have for other Black Ryerson students?
Be yourself unapologetically. Whenever you feel that you may not belong, remember that you are here for a reason and hold onto that. Pursue all your passions and interests; there is no limit to what you can achieve.
