Women, Islam and Modernity

Posters in this virtual exhibit are an outcome of an on-going collaboration between Dr. R Tandon, Dr. Amina Jamal and Dr. Safiyya Husien in SOC 885: Women, Islam and Modernity, to integrate Community Learning an Teaching (CELT) approach in their courses. As part of the CELT approach, students develop posters through a process of research and discussions, and are provided the opportunity to apply their learning to raise awareness on multidisciplinary perspectives to issues concerning Muslim women in Canada and transnational contexts.
