Accommodated Test Centre (ATC)

The ATC coordinates and administers tests, final exams, and make-up tests for students registered with AAS.

The ATC administers both in-person and remote tests. To be eligible to write tests with the ATC, students must:

 Be registered with AAS;

 Have accommodations for tests and exams;

 Have sent their accommodation plans to their instructors;

 Book their accommodated tests by the posted deadlines.

Midterm, quiz, test, & final exam booking deadline: 7 days in advance 
(instead of the usual 10 days - Spring/Summer only)

  • You must book all accommodated quizzes, tests, & midterms 7 days before the test, (Spring/Summer semester only) using the AAS Student Portal. 
  • Book for the same date and time the class is writing, not the accommodated writing time.
  • If you have agreed upon a separate time with your instructor, you can book for the new time. The instructor will be notified and must confirm the new time. 
  • You will receive a confirmation email, indicating the accommodated writing time (for example, extra time). 
  • You will receive a reminder email 2 days before your test with your room location and writing time. 

Online Tests:

  • The Accommodated Test Centre will automatically apply your accommodations or communicate them to your instructor to set up in an online environment. 

In-Person Tests:

  • On the day of your test, be sure to arrive at the Accommodated Test Centre 15 minutes prior to your start time and bring your valid One Card

  • Fall 2025: You must book all of your accommodated final exams using the AAS Student Portal by November 14, 2025

Winter 2025 Final Exams: The ATC is administering accommodated make-up exams April 28-30, 2025. 

In order to write an accommodated make-up test, students must:

  1. Obtain instructor approval
  2. Submit a make-up booking request at least 2 weekdays prior to the scheduled make-up test date.

Exceptional Booking Request

If you missed the deadline to book your test or exam due to exceptional or extenuating circumstances you can submit an Exceptional Booking Request. Exceptional bookings are not guaranteed.

For quizzes, tests, & midterms: 

Requests must be submitted 2 or more weekdays before your scheduled test. 

For final exams:

Exceptional Booking Requests will only be considered for 5 weekdays after the final exam booking deadline.

For virtual online assessments, the ATC will automatically apply your academic accommodations or communicate them to your instructor to set up in the appropriate online environment.

For in-person assessments, the ATC coordinates an on-campus space that meets the requirements of your academic accommodation plan.
