Global Incubator Programme
The Global Incubator Programme is an acceleration programme established by innovate UK. In partnership with leading incubators around the world, this programme allows UK-based SMEs to grow and scale through exploring the potential of global markets.
The LIZ was selected to partner with Innovate UK for SMEs in the legal technology sector. As the world’s first and largest incubator dedicated to legal technology, the LIZ is uniquely able to help them develop new partnerships and collaborations, and explore the opportunity to innovate in the Canadian Market.
The Global Incubator Programme aims to support the expansion of global legal technologies into the Canadian Market.
“As a competitive and intensive programme, participating companies are carefully selected by Innovate UK and LIZ leadership”, says Chris Bentley, co-founder and Managing Director of the LIZ. “With expert training and resources provided by the LIZ, and access to Innovate UK’s outstanding innovation ecosystem, the companies will have everything they need to scale their businesses, build professional relationships, and successfully enter into the Canadian market.”
The LIZ operates out of Toronto, the legal, financial and economic centre of Canada. Since its inception, the LIZ has supported over 170 legal tech-startups through programmes that take them from idea to international sales. LIZ works with entrepreneurs, governments, law firms and companies to help build better legal solutions for the consumers of legal services.
The programme includes two immersive market visits to Toronto, one-to-one mentorship, expert discussions and workshops, and a Demo Day. Their first visit is June 17-21, and the concluding visit is from November 4-8.
