TORONTO — November 16, 2021 — The Legal Innovation Zone (LIZ) at Toronto Metropolitan University is launching its fourth cohort of Concept Framework. Starting on February 1, 2022 and running through until March 15, the six-week program helps future entrepreneurs explore what it takes to build a legal tech company.

“From our launch in 2015, LIZ has offered support to entrepreneurs across Canada and throughout the world as they build better legal solutions for consumers and businesses that need it,” says Chris Bentley, Managing Director of the LIZ. “Concept Framework helps early stage entrepreneurs develop their idea into a workable proposal.”

Since launching the first cohort in 2019, Concept Framework has helped advance and develop 52 legal tech startups from over 13 countries. Participants of the program engage with interactive online content in weekly sessions led by LIZ mentors and industry experts to validate their idea and develop a minimum viable design. The program culminates in a final demo day presentation where participants have the chance to practice their pitch.

“Many entrepreneurs who join Concept Framework start the program with a basic innovative idea and little knowledge about what to do next,” says Hersh Perlis, Director of the LIZ. “Through the support and guidance of our program these entrepreneurs learn how to validate their ideas by engaging with interactive online content and topic experts.”

The fourth cohort of Concept Framework starts on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. Applications to join the program are now open and will close on Friday, January 14, 2022. More information is available on the LIZ website
