Make Collective is for beginners who want to explore the basics of digital design. Hosted by X University's Design Fabrication Zone (DFZ), Toronto's leading incubator for creative entrepreneurs, artists and researchers pushing the boundaries of their industry!

Maybe you’re in the medical industry, considering the possible impact of 3D modelling for the means of creating new 3D printed parts and solutions for your team. Maybe you're a performer looking to incorporate projection technology with Touch Designer to create compelling visuals. Maybe you're a gamer thinking about designing your own 3D environments. Maybe you're just curious and excited to try something new in a comfortable supportive learning environment! If you’re new to the world of digital design, Make Collective is for you!

*Though this is geared towards working professionals, there are a few spots available for students from X University. Please see a separate enrolment form linked at the bottom of the Eventbrite page.

About the Program

This summer, join the Design Fabrication Zone’s learning club and get introduced to the world of digital design software! Make Collective is a very supportive, low barrier to entry opportunity for professionals to learn the digital design tools of the trade.

Learn from the pro's alongside other beginners as we take you through the digital designers toolkit. Every week we’ll show you the basics of a new software - 3D modelling, designing for laser cutting, digital sketching for problem solving and more! With each new software you’ll have a low pressure opportunity to test out the tool and make something to share with the group.
