About the 1-Day Institutes
You have the option to register for this pre-conference event. The one-day institute is designed for participants who wish to deepen their conference experience within a certain topic of your choosing. This is also a great option for participants who have only one day to attend the conference.
About the Conference
Each day of the conference features keynote presentations from inspiring leading experts as well as a series of workshops, presentations and plenary sessions for you to choose from. We give you the tools to examine challenging concepts of privilege and oppression and offer solutions and team building strategies to work toward a more equitable world.
About the Viola Desmond Awards & Banquet
On May 11th, 2018, we will award the achievements of several accomplished Black women in Canada and celebrate the debut of $10 bill featuring Viola Desmond, the first Black woman to be featured on a regularly circulating Bank of Canada note.

The documentary film screenings are an opportunity for conference attendees and community members to gather and view films that explore issues and ideas that are relevant to the conference. Film makers and people connected to the film will be available for talk back sessions to engage with the audience. These films are free and open to the public.
